Electrolyte Compatibility Is Non-Negotiable
In alkaline water electrolysis, the separator membrane is continuously immersed in highly concentrated potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution, typically at 25–30 wt%. This is an extremely aggressive chemical environment — concentrated KOH is a strong base that can degrade many polymers and dissolve certain ceramic materials over time.
IONZERA is designed, manufactured, and tested specifically for 30 wt% KOH service. Every component of the PSU-TiO₂-GO nanocomposite is selected for long-term chemical stability in this environment, ensuring consistent performance throughout the membrane's operational lifetime.

Drop-In Compatibility for Existing AWE Systems
IONZERA is designed as a direct replacement for Zirfon PERL UTP 500 in alkaline electrolysers using 30 wt% KOH. No changes to electrolyte chemistry, concentration, or circulation systems are required. Electrolyser operators can switch to IONZERA and immediately benefit from its 3x lower area resistance without modifying any other aspect of their process.
